Aberfeldy Whisky

Aberfeldy is the single malt at the heart of Dewar's blended Scotch, and remains one of the key distilleries within the John Dewar & Sons portfolio, now owned by Bacardi. Built by the sons of John Dewar, the distillery was planned in 1896 and established to provide a reliable Highland malt for the expanding Dewar's blend.

While much of its production still goes into Dewar's, Aberfeldy has gained a devoted following as a single malt in its own right. Its whisky is typically characterised by a honeyed, rounded Highland style, combining soft fruit, gentle spice and a rich malty sweetness. That accessible character has helped make expressions such as the 12 Year Old and 21 Year Old particularly well-regarded among drinkers looking for a classic, easy-drinking Highland malt.

Beyond its core range, Aberfeldy has also drawn attention from independent bottlers and limited-edition releases, which can reveal a richer or more distinctive side of the spirit. Whether found as a central component of Dewar's or as a single malt standing alone, Aberfeldy remains a distillery respected for its balance, approachability and lasting place in the contemporary Scotch whisky landscape.
