Glencadam is a Highland single malt distillery in Brechin, Angus, founded in 1825. Set in Scotland's eastern Highlands, it has had a quieter public profile than many older distilleries, but its long history and relatively traditional production character have given it a loyal following among drinkers who enjoy lighter, elegant Highland whisky.

Today Glencadam is owned by Angus Dundee Distillers, the same company behind Tomintoul. After a period of closure under previous ownership, the distillery was revived in the early 2000s and has since developed a more visible single malt range. Core expressions include Glencadam 10, 13, 15, 18 and 25 Year Old, alongside American Oak Reserve, Origin 1825, cask finishes and limited releases.

The distillery's stills are known for their upward-sloping lyne arms, which encourage reflux and help create a lighter, more delicate spirit. Glencadam is typically fresh, creamy and fruit-led, with notes of orchard fruit, lemon zest, pineapple, vanilla, malt and gentle spice. Older bottlings add more honey, polished oak, nuts and soft tropical fruit while retaining the distillery's clean, graceful style.

Glencadam is best approached as a Highland malt of poise rather than power. Its whiskies offer clarity, freshness and quiet complexity, making the distillery a rewarding choice for drinkers who prefer elegance over heavy peat or excessive cask influence.
